How bad is MMA right now?

We've gone through some pretty tough times in the UFC's biggest divisions recently. So it has to be asked, are we are currently in the worst eras at heavyweight or women's bantamweight for instance? And that prompts another question.. what WERE the worst eras in these divisions if not? And what was the best?
